Dan Surmelis serves as Estimator and Parts at Vision Collision Pocatello, bringing a long career in the automotive world to the role. Dan has 30 years of experience in auto insurance claims and 5 years in collision repair, giving him a rare dual perspective on both sides of the repair process — the customer’s experience and the carrier’s process.
A Pocatello lifer, Dan is known around the shop for being supportive and professional with both customers and coworkers. What he loves most about the job is the team he gets to work with, and the fact that no two days are ever dull.
Outside of work, Dan is into white water rafting, hunting, fishing, and golf. When asked about the favorite vehicle he’s ever worked on, his answer was straightforward: the team doesn’t let him work on vehicles — which, by his own admission, is probably a good thing. As for a dream vehicle, that one isn’t a dream anymore. He just bought a 2026 GMC 1-Ton Diesel Denali this month.
